Located in Durham’s charming Old Elvet area, The Town House is a grade II listed building, housing cosy rooms and grand interiors.

The Ruby and Amethyst bedrooms offer luxurious king size beds, original architectural features such as a Victorian fireplace or oak panelling, plus both rooms include a free-standing roll-top bath. This is all complimented by modern fixtures such as flat screen TVs, power showers and under-floor heating.

Whilst there, do take advantage of the delicious Sunday roast and the outdoor hot tub, though not at the same time obviously.

Recently featured in our list of ‘Top UK outdoor hot tub hotels’, we can’t get enough of Chateaux Rhianfa. The French style castle is set in the midst of dramatic North Welsh scenery, and is the perfect fairy tale castle for a weekend spent exploring the local nature and relaxing at the hotel.

For a particularly special night book the Duchess Suite, whose piece de résistance is the deep stone bath inserted into the bay window overlooking Snowdonia. On either side of the bath there is a library of books for you to browse, plus a spacious seating area and king-size bed.
